Hard to Fit? Custom Shirts Are The Answer

By Perone Bellows

If your body is not the "standard" size, you're going to have trouble finding clothes. Shirts, suits, shoes and pants will never quite fit. When you buy a suit you expect some alterations and pants can be adjusted too. Some shoe stores have shoes for very large feet and if your feet are very small, perhaps a child's shoe will fit.

Shirts though are complicated and if you're not standard, the off-the-rack shirts just don't fit. If you're overweight, the fabric between the buttons will pull apart. If you have a very thin neck your collar will look like a horse's yoke. If you're arms are short in comparison to your neck, you'll end up with sleeves that cover your hands. Being very tall or very short means that the standard length of a shirt won't fit.

If you're like most men, your clothes aren't real important to you. But if you don't have any shirts that make you look as good as possible, then there will be times when you will be embarrassed or you may choose to miss an event because you don't want to appear unkempt. There is an answer though, custom tailoring.

I know youve heard that custom tailoring is expensive and you have to find a tailor and there are many problems with that idea. That may have been true in the pre-internet days, but now, finding a custom tailor is as easy as using a search engine.

Don't be put off by the cost. Custom shirts aren't as expensive as you think. You can get a completely custom tailored shirt that will look terrific on you for $30 - $50. You are probably paying that much for your off-the-rack shirts right now and if they don't fit you right, people do notice. If you work in an office, then you know that your appearance can affect your chances of getting a better position or a raise.

If your body is not the standard size; if you weigh to much, if your trunk length is 15 inches, or your arms are 22 inches and your neck is 40 inches, then you're never going to find a shirt that fits in any department store or men's shop. Basically if you're very tall, very short, very big, or very skinny then standard shirts aren't made for you.

Custom tailoring is the answer. You measure your neck, arms, trunk, waist, shoulders and choose the fabric, the style, the colors and the buttons. The shirt is made to fit you and only you. When you wear it you know you look good and people will notice. They probably wont say anything overt like, Is that a custom shirt? But they will notice that you look more professional, more stylish and more competent.
