Quitting Smoking Benefits - Are They Worth the Effort?

There are benefits of quitting smoking that begin almost immediately. Other quitting smoking benefits take a bit more time to show up

Smoking even one cigarette causes intense constriction of the blood vessels that last for several hours. When you give up smoking and the nicotine effect wears off, your blood vessels relax and loosen. Blood pressure decreases in blood flow improves.

A few days after you stop smoking smoking, you'll notice that food taste better and you much more aware of scents and fragrances because your sense of smell has improved.

After you've given up smoking for only a few days you'll notice more money in your pocket. Most smokers don't keep track of how much money they spend on their addiction, probably because they really don't want to know how big that number is. Many start saving plans with the money they used to spend on smoking.

Heart disease remains a leading killer. Smoking is a major cause of both heart disease and heart attacks. Fortunately, when you stop smoking your risk of heart attack decreases immediately and gets less and less over time.

You'll experience more and more quitting smoking benefits over time. Exercise will become easier. You'll catch fewer colds. You'll stop coughing up phlegm every morning.

You'll also have a much lower risk of lung cancer after you've given up tobacco.

Most smokers don't realize how dirty smoking is until after they've given it up. Smoke accumulates on all the fabrics and surfaces in your home and car leaving them irty and foul-smelling. Your living environment will be much cleaner after you quit smoking.

When you quit smoking you'll also experience a justifiable sense of accomplishment. You've demonstrated that you can make a commitment and stick to it.

Quitting smoking also improves your physical appearance. Chronic smoking affects your complexion adversely, stains your teeth and makes you more susceptible to wrinkles.

As you can see, you have a lot to gain from quitting smoking.

There is no doubt about - quitting smoking is a good idea..
